Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there no account to register?
Because the app does not need one. Your data never goes anywhere, so there is nothing to sign in to. Dropping accounts also drops the password to remember, the verification email, and the risk of a server leaking your data.
The trade-off is that backups are up to you. See the next question.
Will my data follow me to a new phone?
Only if you back it up. On the old phone, open Account → Back up / Restore → BACK UP, set a password, move the file to the new phone and restore it in the same place. The app will ask whether to Replace everything or Merge with what is here.
Removing the app or losing the phone without a backup means the data is gone, and nobody can recover it.
What if I forget the backup password?
The file cannot be opened. The password is stored nowhere and the app has no back door — which is precisely what keeps the file safe if it falls into someone else’s hands. If the app is still on the old phone, make a new backup with a password you will remember.
What do the three labels mean?
The label is derived from the systolic (SYS) and diastolic (DIA) values, following the VNHA/VSH 2021 and ISH 2020 classification. When the two values fall into different bands, the app takes the more serious one. Pulse never changes the label.
| Label | Condition |
|---|---|
| Ổn định — Stable | SYS 90 to 129 and DIA 60 to 84 |
| Cần theo dõi — Watch | SYS 130–139 or DIA 85–89 |
| Cần chú ý — Attention | SYS ≥ 140 or DIA ≥ 90 or SYS < 90 or DIA < 60 |
The labels are a tracking aid, not a diagnosis. A single reading is not enough to conclude hypertension — see the Medical Disclaimer.
Why is 129/88 labelled “Watch” when the upper number looks normal?
Because the app takes the more serious of the two values. Here the diastolic value is 88, which falls in the 85–89 band, so the whole reading is labelled “Cần theo dõi”.
Will the app call emergency services for me?
No. The app never calls emergency services, never alerts anyone automatically when a reading is high, and does not detect stroke. The family call button only opens your phone’s dialler with a number you saved. If you notice dangerous symptoms, call emergency services immediately.
How does the family call button work?
You tap once, the app shows a 3-second notice with a CANCEL button, then calls the first contact on the list. If the call does not connect, the app calls the next contact, and so on for at most two rounds before stopping and telling you nobody answered.
The operating system cannot tell the app for certain whether the other person picked up, so the app has to infer it and may occasionally call the next contact even after you have finished speaking.
Do my family members get a notification on their phones?
No. The app sends no messages or notifications to your family’s phones. The priority-call flag only sets the order in which numbers are dialled from your phone.
If your family wants to follow along remotely, the Slack webhook below is the only route the app supports.
What is the Slack webhook, and is it required?
It is optional and off by default. It exists for families who already use a Slack channel: you create an Incoming Webhook address in Slack, paste it into the app, and from then on each saved reading is sent from your phone into that channel along with the time it was taken.
No server of ours is involved, you never sign in to Slack inside the app, and you can switch it off or delete the address at any time. The webhook address works like a password for that channel — do not share it.
If I photograph my monitor, is the photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is read on the phone by the text-recognition engine built into the operating system, and by default it is not kept. The app only pre-fills the form; nothing is stored until you check the numbers and tap SAVE READING.
How many languages does the app support?
Three: Vietnamese, English and 中文. Even the name under the icon follows the phone’s language, so an English phone shows “Blood Pressure Diary”. Switching language never affects your data.
If I turn on large text, do the buttons grow too?
Yes. Large-text mode scales the whole app by 1.25 and the buttons grow with it, rather than leaving big text crammed into small controls. Touch targets never drop below 56 px.
What if I miss a medicine reminder?
The app asks again twice: after 10 minutes, then after 20. That second follow-up is the last one — it will not keep nagging. When you answer, your family sees it in the channel if you have Slack switched on.
I hit “overwrite” during a restore by mistake — is everything gone?
No. Before overwriting, the app snapshots the data you already had, keeping the five most recent so you can go back. Note that these snapshots live on the phone and carry no password — they are an emergency undo, not a file to carry around.
Does the app read my contacts?
No. It requests no contacts permission, no call permission and no call-log access. You type family numbers in yourself, and the call button only opens your phone’s dialler for you to press.
Does the app need an internet connection?
No, unless you enable the Slack webhook. Entering readings, browsing history, charts, reminders, backups and PDF export all work offline.
Does the app cost anything, or show ads?
The app has no advertising, no in-app purchases and no behavioural tracking libraries.
Does my doctor need to install the app to read the report?
No. The report is an ordinary PDF that opens on any device. The app never creates a link or QR code for viewing data online.
